Scheduling A Certification Exam

Normally, an intermediate student completing BMGT 1009 Applied PM would have a full-spectrum well-rounded background in the theory and practice of project management at the end of the course, plus the (35) minimum required hours of recent PM education needed to complete submission of PMI®'s (non-trivial) online CAPM® or PMP® Exam application. You could also apply for the (less rigorous and cheaper) CompTIA® Project+ application for (another) certification in the IT domain, if that is your interest area, since the PMI® PMBOK® Guide is the basis for both organizations' exams.  Which one(s) you pursue depends on your level of demonstrable and documentable experience, and industry interest area.

If you are deemed acceptable on all the other qualifications (and pay their fees), then you will receive a letter inviting you to make an appointment to sit for their exam at a local commercial testing center like Pearson VUE, sometime within the next 12 months.

When your invitation is received, then is when you should register for the BMGT1040 PMP/CAPM Exam Prep Course, or perhaps get an online or CD-based course to hone your PMBOK® Guide knowledge for the exam (which is quite difficult).  But it is recommended to get live instruction for the best preparation.

You should then schedule your testing appointment to immediately follow your Exam Prep course completion and you should be about as sharp on this subject matter as you will ever be, and ready to try the test!
